Recently I discovered a new hobby, I bought a ukulele… I really don’t know what got into me but after watching a certain video from youtube where this man did a cover of Metallica with his uke, I found it very amazing and cool haha. I rushed myself to megamall and buy an uke and too bad the one I like in JB music is already sold and I just settled with a much cheaper ukulele that I bought in RJ. I think it’s ok because I’m still learning and I told myself when I can finally cover a full song without mistakes, that I can finally really buy a better ukulele.
Last week, November 14, I went to Komikon right after my talk in DLSU. I left DLSU around 5pm, battled the epicness of MRT around 6pm and arrived safely in Shaw Blvd. around 6:30pm. I was worried actually that I might not able to make it to komikon, I decided to walk and run instead. While walking along Shaw Blvd. I saw 2 guys going home with big eco bags of Komikon I didn’t think twice to ask them if the event’s still open… so I asked them they said it was already done because the event was only until 7… and my heart was crushed into pieces because I really really want to have 1st dibs on Manix Abrera’s new book, NEWS HARDCORE: HUKBONG SANDATAHAN NG KAHAGGARDAN.
I woke up so early today just to realize everything that I feel and see right now are real. I am really ecstatic ever since God knows when I was booked to photograph Coleen Garcia for Preview Magazine. I’d like to share you guys a bit of backstory of my life why I feel so immensely happy right now.
I have been working for the music industry for almost a year now. I have designed a handful of albums already; from OPM to compilations and sometimes foreign indie too. Time to time I also get art-block/black cloud/missing-blue-moon or simply un-inspired… when that time comes I always land on looking at KPOP album designs. I must say every album design is unique and really inspiring.
